Help & feedback.
Answers to common questions, and a direct line to the founder. Reserve is built by a small team, and real user feedback shapes what gets built next.
My coach's energy reading seems off, or different from my wearable's app
Reserve reads your health data from Apple Health, not directly from your wearable's own app. If your wearable (Oura, Garmin, and others) has paused syncing fresh data to Apple Health, even for a day or two, Reserve is working from older numbers than you'd expect, which can make the energy zone look stuck or not match how you feel.
How to check:
- Open your wearable's own app (for example the Oura app) and go to its Apple Health settings (the exact name varies), and confirm the "Sync with Apple Health" toggle is on.
- On your iPhone, open the Health app → Sharing → Apps → [your wearable] and confirm it still has permission for Resting Heart Rate, Heart Rate Variability, and Sleep. Permissions can be silently reset by an iOS update or a reinstall.
- Many wearables only push to Apple Health while their app is open, so try opening your wearable's app and giving it a moment to sync, then reopen Reserve.
Why this happens: Reserve only coaches on the data your phone actually has. Some wearables (notably Oura) also don't write heart-rate variability to Apple Health at all, so in that case Reserve estimates your energy from resting heart rate and sleep instead, which is a slightly less precise but still useful directional read. Connecting a wearable directly, where supported, gives Reserve the fuller picture.
Do I need a wearable to use Reserve?
No. Reserve works with Apple Health, Oura, or Garmin if you have them, but if you don't, a ten-to-fifteen second morning check-in lets you tell the coach how you slept and how your energy feels, and it coaches from that. You get the full daily loop either way. A wearable simply makes the energy read automatic and adds pattern-finding over time.
How does the free trial and subscription work?
Reserve Pro comes with a 7-day free trial. After the trial it's a subscription (monthly or annual), billed through your Apple account. Everything that isn't AI-powered stays free to use. You can start the trial, explore, and cancel before it ends at no charge.
How do I cancel or manage my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside Reserve. On your iPhone, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, tap Reserve, and you can change or cancel there. If you cancel during the free trial you won't be charged. Canceling stops future billing; you keep access until the current period ends.
Where is my data, and is it really private?
Yes. Your reflections, values, goals, coaching notes, and health data live on your device, encrypted. There is no Reserve account and no Reserve server storing your life. When the coach generates a note, a limited, derived slice of context is sent over an encrypted connection to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to produce that coaching, and it isn't retained on our servers. No ads, no data brokering, ever. The full details are in our privacy policy.
How do I back up or move my data to a new phone?
Because your data lives on your device rather than in a cloud account, use the backup tools in Settings inside Reserve: back up to your own iCloud, or export a file you keep yourself. On a new phone, install Reserve and restore from that backup. If you delete and reinstall the app without restoring, the on-device data is gone, so back up first.
I subscribed but the app still shows the paywall / restore purchases
Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple account you subscribed with, then open Reserve's paywall or subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases. If it still doesn't unlock, send us your Support ID (in the app's subscription settings) using the form below and we'll sort it out.
