Privacy Policy
SolveFor, LLC ("SolveFor," "we," "us," or "our") operates solvefor.dev and related products including Reserve EMC (iOS and Android), Nuclear News (nukenewsalert.com), and Unravel. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information:
- Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register for an account.
- Contact information: Phone number if you opt into SMS notifications (Nuclear News).
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, timestamps, and IP addresses for analytics and security.
- Payment information: Processed by our payment providers (including the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers.
- Communications: Messages you send to our support email or feedback form.
- Health data (Reserve EMC): With your explicit, per-category authorization, Reserve EMC may read selected data from Apple HealthKit — such as heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep analysis, and activity metrics — solely to support the app's core features (energy-state-aware coaching). This data is processed on-device and is not stored on SolveFor's servers; it is not sold or used for advertising. For Reserve EMC, a limited health-derived coaching context is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) solely to generate coaching, as described in Sections 1a–1c below. Aside from that, it is not shared with third parties.
- Calendar data (Reserve EMC): With your explicit permission, Reserve EMC may read calendar events from your device to provide schedule-aware coaching. Calendar data is processed on-device only and is never transmitted to SolveFor's servers, used for advertising, or shared with third parties.
- On-device app data (Reserve EMC): Reserve EMC stores your values, goals, coaching notes, and related personal content locally on your device using encrypted on-device storage (Apple Keychain via expo-secure-store, with non-sensitive preferences in standard local storage). This content is not synced to SolveFor's servers.
- AI coaching requests (Reserve EMC): When you interact with Reserve EMC's coaching features, the text of your prompts and the relevant in-session context are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. These requests are made over an encrypted connection and are subject to Anthropic's data-handling policies. SolveFor does not retain the content of these requests on its own servers. SolveFor does not sell or share AI prompt content with any party other than Anthropic for the sole purpose of generating your coaching response.
1a. Apple HealthKit Data (Reserve EMC)
Reserve EMC integrates with Apple HealthKit. Its use of HealthKit is governed by Apple's HealthKit framework requirements and by this Privacy Policy. Specifically:
- Explicit authorization. The application accesses HealthKit data only after you grant explicit, per-category permission through the standard iOS HealthKit authorization sheet. You can grant or deny access on a category-by-category basis.
- Read-only access. Reserve EMC does not write data into HealthKit. We request read-only access to the categories needed for the app's features.
- On-device storage and limited AI-coaching use. HealthKit data is read on your device and stored locally; SolveFor does not store or back up HealthKit data on its servers or any cloud service. For Reserve EMC, health-derived context is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic's Claude API, over an encrypted connection solely to generate your coaching — by default this is your energy state and directional trends (for example, "HRV rising relative to baseline" or "sleep quality: good"), and exact values (such as HRV in milliseconds, resting heart rate, and sleep duration) are included only if you enable detailed metrics sharing in Settings. HealthKit data is not sent to any analytics provider or other external service.
- No third-party sharing. SolveFor does not share, sell, lease, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose HealthKit data to any third party, including advertising networks, analytics providers, marketing services, data brokers, or information resellers.
- No advertising or marketing use. SolveFor does not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, retargeting, lead generation, or any similar service. HealthKit data is not used to build user profiles or to serve advertisements.
- Purpose limitation. HealthKit data is used solely to provide health and coaching features directly to you within the app you authorized. It is not used for research, product analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the features you use.
- Revoking access. You may revoke any or all HealthKit permissions at any time. Open the iOS Settings app → Privacy & Security → Health → Reserve EMC, and toggle off the categories you wish to revoke. Revocation is effective immediately and does not affect data that has already been displayed to you in-app.
- Account deletion. Because HealthKit data is not stored on our servers, deleting your account (where applicable) does not require us to delete HealthKit data — that data continues to live in Apple Health under your control.
1b. Android Health Data (Health Connect)
On Android, Reserve EMC may, with your explicit permission, read selected health data through Google Health Connect (or, where applicable, equivalent on-device health platforms). The same principles described above for HealthKit apply to Health Connect:
- Explicit permission. Health Connect data is accessed only after you grant explicit, per-data-type permission through the standard Android Health Connect permission flow.
- Read-only. Our applications do not write data into Health Connect.
- On-device processing and limited AI-coaching use. Health Connect data is processed on your device and is not stored on SolveFor's servers. For Reserve EMC, the same limited coaching context described above (energy state and directional trends by default; exact values only with detailed metrics sharing enabled) is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic's Claude API, over an encrypted connection to generate your coaching. Health Connect data is not sold or sent to any other third-party service.
- No third-party sharing, no advertising. SolveFor does not share, sell, or otherwise disclose Health Connect data to any third party, and does not use it for advertising or marketing.
- Revoking access. You may revoke Health Connect permissions at any time. Open the Android Settings app → Apps → Health Connect → App permissions, locate Reserve EMC, and revoke any data types you wish to remove. Revocation is effective immediately.
1c. Connected Wearable Accounts — Oura and WHOOP (Reserve EMC)
In addition to Apple HealthKit and Google Health Connect, Reserve EMC can connect directly to your Oura or WHOOP account, with your explicit authorization, using each provider's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization process. These integrations are separate from the on-device health platforms described above and are governed by this Privacy Policy together with the provider's own privacy policy and terms of use. Garmin and Fitbit devices are currently supported indirectly, through Apple Health and Google Health Connect as described in Sections 1a and 1b — there is no direct Garmin or Fitbit account connection. If direct integrations are added, this section will be updated.
- Explicit authorization. Reserve EMC initiates a connection only when you tap "Connect Oura" or "Connect WHOOP" and sign in to your own account on the provider's hosted login and consent screen. You decide whether to grant access and which categories to authorize. SolveFor never sees or stores your Oura or WHOOP username or password.
- Data we access. With your authorization, Reserve EMC requests read-only access to a minimal set of scopes. From Oura ("Daily" and "Heart Rate" data): sleep metrics (including heart rate variability, total sleep duration, and lowest/resting heart rate) and daily activity metrics. From WHOOP (recovery, sleep, workout, and profile scopes): recovery metrics (including heart rate variability and resting heart rate), sleep data, and workout data. All of it is used solely to support the app's energy-management coaching features. We request only the scopes the app needs and no others.
- On-device token storage. The access credentials issued by the provider (access and refresh tokens) are stored only on your device using encrypted on-device storage (Apple Keychain via expo-secure-store). Your Oura or WHOOP data is retrieved directly to your device. SolveFor does not store or back up your tokens or your wearable health data on its servers or on any cloud service.
- Use in AI coaching. Reserve EMC's coaching is informed by your connected wearable data. When the app generates coaching, it sends relevant context to its AI provider (Anthropic's Claude API) over an encrypted connection. By default, this context describes your energy state and directional trends derived from your wearable data (for example, "HRV rising relative to baseline" or "sleep quality: good") rather than exact figures. If you enable detailed metrics sharing in Settings, specific values — such as heart rate variability in milliseconds, resting heart rate, and sleep duration — may be included. This content is subject to Anthropic's data-handling policies, is used solely to generate your coaching, and is not retained on SolveFor's servers or shared with any other party.
- No sale, no advertising. SolveFor does not sell, lease, rent, trade, or disclose your Oura or WHOOP data to data brokers, advertisers, or analytics providers, and does not use it for advertising, marketing, retargeting, lead generation, or profiling.
- Purpose limitation. Connected wearable data is used solely to provide Reserve EMC's coaching features directly to you. It is not used for research, product analytics, or any purpose unrelated to the features you use.
- Revoking access. You may disconnect Oura or WHOOP at any time from within Reserve EMC. You may also revoke Reserve EMC's access directly with the provider — for Oura at cloud.ouraring.com under your account's connected applications; for WHOOP in your WHOOP account's app and integration settings. Revocation stops further data access immediately.
1d. Audio Mode and Text-to-Speech (Reserve EMC)
Reserve EMC includes an optional Audio Mode that speaks the coach's replies aloud. It is off by default, it explains itself before it ever runs, and you can turn it off at any time in Settings. Because synthesized speech cannot be produced entirely on the device at the quality this feature requires, turning Audio Mode on changes what leaves your phone. That change is described here in full.
- What is sent. Only the coach's written reply, the same text already displayed on your screen, is sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to be turned into audio. The audio comes back and is played on your device.
- What is never sent. Your microphone audio never leaves your device. Speech you dictate is transcribed on the device itself, in Audio Mode and out of it. Your health data, journal entries, goals, notes, and tasks are never sent for speech synthesis.
- Note on content. A coaching reply may describe your sleep, energy, or recovery in words. If you would rather no description of your health reach a speech provider at all, leave Audio Mode off and the app behaves exactly as it did before.
- Google's handling. Google's Cloud Text-to-Speech documentation states that Google does not log any customer Cloud Text-to-Speech text or audio data, and Google's Service Specific Terms commit that Google will not use customer data to train or fine-tune AI or ML models without the customer's prior permission or instruction. We have given no such permission and will not. The text is sent over an encrypted connection.
- Usage counting. Audio Mode carries a monthly character allowance, so we count how many characters have been spoken for your installation each month and store that count on our relay (described in Section 1e). The count is a number attached to a randomly generated identifier. It never includes what was said, and it is not linked to your name, email, or any account. This counting is ongoing rather than temporary: it is what enforces the allowance. Counters are kept for roughly seventy days and then expire.
- No advertising, no profiling, no sale. Nothing related to Audio Mode is used for advertising, marketing, analytics profiling, or any form of tracking, and none of it is sold or shared beyond the speech provider performing the synthesis.
1e. The Reserve Relay (Reserve EMC)
Reserve EMC has no user accounts and no server-side copy of your personal content. It does, however, send two kinds of request through a small relay service that SolveFor operates. The relay exists so that vendor API keys are never shipped inside the app, where they could be extracted. This section describes it plainly rather than claiming the app talks to nothing.
- What passes through it. Coaching requests on their way to Anthropic, and, if you use Audio Mode, coach reply text on its way to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech. The relay forwards these and does not store their contents.
- What it does store. Two things, both keyed to the randomly generated subscription identifier issued by our payments provider (RevenueCat) rather than to your name or email: a short-lived cache of whether your subscription is currently active, and, if you use Audio Mode, the monthly character count described in Section 1d.
- What it does not store. No coaching content, no replies, no health data, no journal entries, no transcripts, and no audio.
2. SMS Communications
Some SolveFor products (including Nuclear News) offer opt-in SMS alert services. By providing your phone number and opting in, you consent to receive text messages related to the service you subscribed to.
- SMS messages are sent only to users who have explicitly opted in.
- Message frequency varies based on service activity and your preferences.
- Standard message and data rates may apply.
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message or updating your account settings.

- To process payments and manage subscriptions.
- To respond to support requests.
- To monitor usage and detect security issues.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers: Third-party vendors who assist in operating our services, bound by confidentiality agreements. For Reserve EMC these are: Anthropic (AI coaching), Google Cloud Text-to-Speech (spoken replies, only if you turn on Audio Mode), RevenueCat (subscription status), and the Apple App Store and Google Play (purchases). Across other SolveFor products: Stripe for payments, Twilio for SMS, and Resend for email.

5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Reserve EMC's on-device content (values, goals, coaching notes, and health data) lives on your device and is deleted when you delete it in-app or remove the app. The only Reserve EMC data held off your device is described in Section 1e: a short-lived subscription-status cache, and Audio Mode character counts that expire after roughly seventy days. Neither contains your personal content. You may request deletion of any server-side account information by contacting us at the email below.
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), on-device encrypted storage, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies to operate our services (session management, authentication). We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents may request to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of their information, and opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information). To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to individuals under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
